About the speaker: Gerhard Gnauck was born in 1964 in Warsaw and went to school in Wiesbaden and Mainz. After studying Eastern European History, Political Science and Slavic Studies and a doctorate on “Parties and Nationalism in Russia” with Gesine Schwan, Gnauck joined the F.A.Z newsroom in 1995. Since 2018, Gnauck has been a political correspondent there for Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic States.
